Gino Garcia
Gino was born and raised in Santa Ana, California and resides there today as a multi-talented musician, singer and songwriter. Gino began his musical journey at the young age of 13. A drum practice pad was his first exposure to music. Three years later, an elementary school teacher introduced Gino to classical music, which then began his desire to learn the piano and guitar. Exotic percussion instruments were the next musical adventure Gino pursued, including bongos, congas, and drums. He studied Afro-Cuban rhythms for four years before securing professional employment with several garage bands. Gino continued his musical journey, landing a top 40 gig with the elitist eighties band, Matinée Idol.
Gino became the Musical Director at the infamous Carmello’s in Corona Del Mar. Gino was introduced to Louie Louie, also known as one of the hottest dancers on the circuits in Orange County and L.A. County. Gino became a full-time professional percussionist from 1984 to this day still. Touring became Gino’s career with residencies in California and Las Vegas as well as internationally touring with Louie Louie and Erasure. Wonder Boogie, Boogie Nights, Hot Lava and Psychic Radio were a few bands Gino regularly performed with simultaneously when touring. Currently, Gino is still following his passion of playing music, performing multi-venues, and entertaining audiences all over the Western Region.
